We face losing up to half the value of our pensions going forward. Worse, our pensions will be vulnerable to stock market devaluations. If this change is imposed, the biggest losers will be the youngest staff. This affects us now, but it could affect you in the future.
We don't want to strike, but we have no choice if we are to have some security in old age. So far Queen Mary management has not spoken up for its staff, unlike the vice chancellors of Warwick, Dundee, Lancaster and others.
